Easy Breezy

It's been so nice in Vancouver all summer long.
It's time to rescue my sun dresses and sandals from the back of my closet!
I wore a blue sac dress from AA and a black blazer from Zara.
I freakin' wear this blazer with everything! It's so versatile.

Granny Pants at Club Monaco

I had some time to stop by Club Monaco a few days ago and found the perfect slacks with matching tank!
The slacks, which I call "granny pants" are light, silky shiny fabric perfect for summer.
The matching tank is sheer and loose with a hint of glitter.
I heart loose-hanging granny pants for the summer because it's not too casual as sweatpants, but still loose and light enough to be comfortable.
I don't care if Alexander Wang made sweats look cool, I cannot wear them outside the gym or exam time.

The last picture is my outfit before the "granny-fication."
I love my pearl cross necklace from ALDO Accessories, which surprisingly carries good accessories.
It was only 13.95!

My sassy nails!

I tried on my fancy glue-on nail chips I got from Richmond Night Market!
So sassy and fierce! This cute girl complimented on my nails when I was lining up to see "Lion King."
So Sassy and Fierce!

Lion King: Exciting end to a day in Vancouver

I went to see "Lion King" the broadway production.
Anything made into a Broadway musical is magical!
My first ever musical was "Grease," which was good enough. Then I saw "Footloose," which was even better.
Aside from those two high school productions, I first saw a major one in NYC and it was "Little Mermaid."
From then, wherever I go, I have to see a Broadway production.
Even the most magical story like the "Little Mermaid" is jazzed up by Broadway.
I absolutely love all the old Disney movies and "Lion King" was one of many I loved as a kid.
"Lion King" was sold out in New York and Las Vegas, so I came back to Vancouver to catch it in Queen Elizabeth Theatre.
It was as good as or even better than the real Disney movie! I took my little bro and he absolutely love it too!

Vancouver Richmond Night Market Finds

I went to the Annual summer Richmond Night Market with my friends the other night.
It's always fun browsing the bazaar every summer, watching people bustling, inhaling that intoxicating smoke and sweat from everyone at the marketplace and finally scoring some rare goods.
I usually go to the Night Market for artificial nail chips, gems and other nail art supplies.
I did an earlier post about nail art and how I got so obsessed with it, now the obsession is back!
There is no place like the nail booth at the market anywhere. So I visit the nail art booth almost religiously.
It's like I am on pilgrimage for the perfect and rare nail art supplies.
Sure you can get nail stickers from plenty of places nowadays, but nowhere carries more and better selection.
It's a bit of a money saver too.

I can't wait to make something cool out of these!

Also, I obviously didn't forget the good asian food fare they have.
My favourites are egg/ bubble waffles, those wheel snacks with nutella filling and the Tornado potato sticks!
Parking is $4 ~$5 depending where you park, but it's totally worth it.

What would you wear to the Emmy's: I got a dress for Tina Fey

I know it's a bit too early to think about the Emmy's right now.
It's 50days away, according to Emmys.com.
I love the Emmy's because well, frankly, I love television shows more than films.
TV, I think is more casual than the movies. You can always relax at home watching tv shows.
In consequence, the wardrobe of nominees and guests at the Emmy's is far more casual, but still as glamourous as outfits at the Oscars.
If I were a TV star or were affliated in producing any shows, I would opt for glamourous, yet sophisticated outfit.
Who says you can't wear last season's, or out-of-season's items?
I think they still look cool.
Fashion Makes The Star, Makes The Fashion

I would totally be the centre of the attention with this               scintilating Lanvin jumpsuit.
What a head-tuner from the Blondes!
The golden chainmail dress is extraordinaire!

I love this fuscia dress from YSL, but would lose the gloves.
Love the couturistic drapery on such eye-catching colours from Lanvin!

I don't know, but this dress (top) would look B-A-N-A-N-A-S on Tiny Fey!
Tina always looks good in sapphire or deep ocean blue.
I know this dress (bottom) was Keira's, but it's perfect for Tina too!
She would also kill the Emmys in Keira's emerald dress from the movie, Atonement.

Quick Project-Summer Organizing

I always write everything down so I don't forget, but recently, my schedule (though not much) has been all over the place.
So I got a big corkboard from HomeSense to pin everything up where I can see them in one place.
I don't have much on my plate, being unemployed with no summer school and all, but I do want to know what's happening around me.
I drew my self a big calendar to stick post-its for special days like Gallery tours, volunteering time, meeting with my friends, the workout schedule and such.
Around my calendar, I put my favorite postcard collection, just so I actually make myself look at the calendar once in a while.

And here's my outfit for a blazing hot summer day!

Baking Time!

My mom, dad and I were watching a series of drama around 2 weeks ago.
You know when you watch one episode after another then another until very late at night?
That's what we did.
So my mom decided to bake something for a very late dinner.
She made Almond red bean buns.
 They look scrumptious don't they?

She also made bread for the next morning!
It was soft and so puffy! Just the way I like.
AND I made Smileys. They are like tater tots with smiley faces.
So cute! They got a nice golden tan.

Oh my Prada!

These are from few seasons back, but it's still trendy.
It's not as bulky as a clog, but the woodiness of these platforms does the trick.
I love brown shoes more than black ones. I'm more boho than chic you could say.
These Prada platforms are timeless in design and form.
I love the little bow and the patterns on the front.
I could wear these in the fall with a pair of fitted jeans and a chic jacket or in the summer with a eyelet dress.
The bad news is that these are just so hard to walk in.
After all, I am no Carrie Bradshaw who can hop around NYC in Manolos.

Summer Nail Art you would want to try out

My nails have been clean from any nail art for the last few weeks.
I applied simple nail polish colours, but no 3D nail art has been tried out.
I was totally obsessed and went crazy during January.
I have bought so much supplies, gems, stickers and nail glue for nail art, but just left them after my experiments back in January.
I have the urge to try them again. Here are some of the really cool designs I want to try out for the summer.
Well, I would be using stickers instead of actually drawing those fine lines though.
You could get this done at Kaen Hair/Nail Studio on Thurlow, but each nail art would be hundred bucks which would last for 3 weeks, 4 with really good care.

Doc Martens Silver Gem

I saw these Doc Martens 3 hole chrome shoes from a Korean TV show where Ga-In (did an earlier post about her) was spotted wearing these.
The moment I saw them on her, I wanted a pair. It's a much better alternative to Converse sneakers for a hip casual look. I love how it's not all up on your ankles, cuz then it would be too much.
It's a brilliant understatement of footwear. It's casual enough to wear with cozy sweatshirts or with a leather jacket.
I WANT THESE!!!

Today's outfit

Today felt like a nice Vancouver summer.
Sunny that you need your shades, but breezy enough to cool you down.
I went to the library to pick up some French language learning CDs and books to brush up on my Francais.
I wanted to pick up some heavenly pie from the infamous Savary Island Pie Company on 15th, but silly enough, I forgot wallet.
So I went for a stroll on the Seawalk instead. Turns out, it was a nice alternative to eating pie.

Napoli, Pasta, Armani

I went to Napoli about a month and a half ago.
I totally forgot to do a post about it :P
It is such a beautiful city and so tranquil too!

Such a crowded hill. This reminds me of Klimt's painting (see below) for some reason.
Such a picturesque scene.

Me and my lovely sis together.
Showing off my power shoulder with Armani.

The food was just amazing. I had seafood pasta with mussells and tomatoes. It was THE best pasta I've ever had. The pasta wasn't too pasty or overcooked like they serve it "American style." I had the real deal: the "Italian Al dente." (is the spelling right?)
Didn't have time to take a picture because as soon as the plate hit the table, I gobbled it up :9
The hills and the sea remind me of my hometown, West Vancouver, but in Napoli you can actually go swimming in the waters. I wished I joined the group of people who were having so much fun at the beach, but I had to resist for Armani's sake.

Rare Vintage Find

I scored this vintage lacy gown on Ebay.
It was only six bucks!!!
Well, it actually took over 4 weeks for delivery because of cheap postage and tardy Canadian mailmen.
I want to wear this to parties or fancy lounges.
I love how the dress is not too white, but has this beigey mustard tint.
